So excited for summer!

Yesterday I bought some strawberries for the first time in a looong time. They are so expensive in the winter and not very good anyway. But these were so big, ripe and juicy! They were $2.50 which is still a little pricey, but so worth it! One of the hardest parts of winter, for me, is missing fruit. I LOVE fruit and today I am happy :) Winter is almost over!

Pictures! Pictures! Pictures!

I know it's been a whole year since I have blogged! So much has happened and I wish I had been more diligent because it is such a fun way of journal-keeping! I love reading the blogs of all of my friends and family and getting to see those little pieces of your lives.

The biggest thing, of course, that has happened to me in the last year and a half is the marriage and sealing to my wonderful husband. Logan and I have an amazing life together and I am so thankful to be married to my best friend.

I hope you enjoy these pictures and I hope I can be better this year in 'documenting' and sharing our life with you :)

The Proposal

It was our six month anniversary, August7th. We had already picked out the ring a week or so ago..and, I'll be honest with you, I was expecting a proposal. I knew Logan had planned a date, which hardly ever happens. Its usually something like this: "So..what do you wanna do?" "I dunno know, what do you wanna do?". But this night was different, premeditated! I was trying not to get all worked up, only to be met with disappointment. So I kept telling myself, "he just wanted to plan something nice for our anniversary".
Anyway, I'll get on to the good stuff. He picked me up at my house. He gave me a rose, with a kiss on the cheek, and said happy anniversary. I was about to go back into my house to put the rose in water but he told me to hold onto it.
We drove to the Wilk on BYU campus. In the parking lot he gave me another rose because that is where we had our first kiss. We went inside and downstairs to the bowling alley. This is where we had our date when we first became "official", so he gave me another rose. We bowled and had a lot of fun. Logan didn't even fall once ;)
After that we walked through the Wilk to a spot across from the bookstore where he gave me another rose, this being the place we first saw each other. We then walked outside to a bench in front of the library where I received another rose because this is where we first held hands.
Then we went to the dollar movie and saw The Hulk, which we didn't like so much. But this is where we had our very first date..so another rose there.
After the movie we went to dinner (this was a long date!). We ate at Chili's which was also part of our very first date so I got another rose there.
At this point I had 7 roses. We drove up to Mt. Timpanogos Temple where he gave me another rose. Then we started walking around the grounds. It was such a nice night, the weather was perfect and the temple looked gorgeous.
When we were walking toward the temple Logan said he had something to tell me. He then preceded to tell me that, even though I was probably expecting it, he wasn't going to propose tonight. He said that he had really wanted to, but he didn't have the ring yet because one of the stones on the side was loose and he had to send it back to be fixed. At first I was pretty disappointed, my heart dropped. I was trying really hard not to show it. But then I started thinking, "we're going to get married eventually." Here I have this wonderful boyfriend, who planned an amazing date for me...I should just be grateful and enjoy it. Little did I know, this perfect boyfriend of mine was lying to me ;)
So we walked further and reached the temple. We started walking around it. We went a little way and then stopped, he pulled out another rose and said "this is in hopes that we'll be here (at the temple) together soon". We walked a little bit further, stopped again, and he gave me another rose saying "this is for the children we will have together".
We walked almost all the way around when we stopped again and he gave me my 11th rose and said "this is for the life we will share together".
Then we walked all the way down the lawn so we could look back and see the entire temple. He pulled out the 12th, and final, rose. Around the top of the rose was my ring. He said "and this is in hopes that you will spend eternity with me". He then got down on one knee, took my hand in his, and asked "will you marry me?" I was shaking so badly as I said "yes" and he slid the ring onto my finger. He stood up, we kissed, and he held me.
It was the most perfect night anyone could ask for. I can't even begin to describe the feelings. I actually think I held it together pretty well. I didn't start crying until the car ride home. I can't believe how lucky I am! Logan is more than I could ever ask for, he is so good to me and more than I deserve. I have finally found true happiness and I can't wait to spend eternity with the man of my dreams.

Backyard Pond

I'm no photographer but I was excited when our water lilies started to bloom and couldn't resist taking a few pictures. A gorgeous backyard is definitely one of the huge benefits of having a professional landscaper as a dad!

Buckle Up

I think its good, every now and again, to be reminded of our mortality. I definitely can't say that I haven't complained about all the physical pain and I can't say that I haven't complained about losing my car. But I have gained a greater appreciation for my family and the acts of service they've shown me. I'm also incredibly blessed to not have been seriously injured. The EMTs said my injuries would have been much more severe and possibly even fatal if I had not been wearing my seatbelt, and I definitely have the bruises to prove it. So I guess I get to stand on my little soap box and tell everyone to buckle up! You always think nothing like this will ever happen to you, and hopefully it never does... but its always better to be safe than sorry.

Who's Your Sugar Daddy?

It's been such a long time since I've posted! Ali you're probably so disappointed. I could make all kinds of excuses about life being busy blah blah blah but I think I'll forgo the formalities and just get on with the post.
If it's not obvious from the picture, my chosen topic for today is the man of my dreams. Probably the only people who read this blog include my family and some of the Gold family. So be patient with me because I'm only telling you things you already know.
Logan is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I never thought I would be so lucky. He is the most amazing person I have ever met. Logan is the kind of guy every girl is looking for. He knows how to make people feel good about themselves. He loves unconditionally and forgives unquestioningly.
He is easy to get along with and does so much for other people. Logan is selfless and understanding. He makes me laugh and knows how to have fun, but also knows when to be serious. He is extremely intelligent and resourceful. And because I KNOW you all are dying to know...he's also an excellent kisser ;)
The purpose of this post is not to embarrass him, although that is a small part of it haha. I guess I just have all these feelings that need to be expressed and this is a good outlet to help me do just that.
I just want my family to know that I'm happy. I want the Gold family to know that I love their son and I am so grateful to have him in my life. Most importantly, Logan I want you to know that you are my everything and I love you with all my heart.
